The phrase 心海 is a pun. Literally, 心=heart and 海=sea, or, “sea of hearts”. The word Galaxy in Chinese is 星海. (星=stars) Both phrases have the same pronunciation: “xing1 hai3”.

In Chinese language, phonology and homonyms abound, and people constantly make puns of it, from teen-speak to marketing slogans to news captions. Though, curiously it is almost never found in serious poetry, perhaps because it is too cheap, similar to the state of limericks in English.

This is a beautiful love song. It conjures up a galaxy of stars and connects it to love.
