Rouputuan, also known as Huiquanbao and Juehouchan, and translated as 〈The Carnal Prayer Mat〉 or 〈The Before Midnight Scholar〉, is a Chinese erotic novel of the Qing Dynasty published under a pseudonym but usually attributed to Li Yu. It was written in 1657 and published in 1693. It is divided into four volumes of five chapters apiece. It was published in Japan in 1705 as Nikufuton with an preface proclaiming it the greatest erotic novel of all time. In the Chinese literary world, the novel was controversial, and has long been banned and censored, but recent opinion holds that it is an allegory which uses its unabashed pornographic nature to attack Confucian puritanism. The prologue comments that sex is healthy when taken as if it were a drug, but not as if it were ordinary food.[1]
A zafu (Japanese: 座蒲) or putuan (Chinese: 蒲团) is a round cushion. Although also a utilitarian accessory, it is most well known for its use in zazen Zen meditation.[1]
肉蒲团
蒲團，一種坐壂，外型類似小型的枕頭。通常的形狀是圓形，也有半月形等其他的形狀，中間填充木棉或蕎麥瞉等鬆軟的填充物。在佛教中，它經常被當成是輔助禪坐的用具。
《肉蒲团》，李渔所創作的一部章回體艳情小说。著于清朝顺治十四年（1657），随后屡遭禁毁，但仍有私刻本。1705年传入日本，现今最完整的抄本存於东京大学。
本書又名《迴圈報》、《覺後禪》，分《春》、《夏》、《秋》、《冬》四卷，每卷五回共二十回。小说的开头写到，男主角未央生前去参佛，见到高僧，高僧见他面相大有慧根，但是色欲外露。未央生就说，高僧是打坐参禅坐通几张蒲团，而他自己的生平之愿是要娶天下第一佳人，以坐享肉蒲团。
《肉蒲团》有着非常正面的主题—轮回和报应：未央生淫了权老实等人的妻子，权老实便去勾搭了未央生的妻子玉香，使玉香也被别人淫；未央生换了阳具、沉迷肉海最终也搞坏了身体；未央生和权老实几番作孽之后，最终都参透欲望，皈依了佛门[1]。
《3D肉蒲團之極樂寶鑑》（英文：3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy）是香港首部3D情色三級片，由《玉蒲團之偷情寶鑑》監製蕭若元，聯同其兒子蕭定一等擔任編劇及監製，孫立基導演。電影斥資高達1億240萬元新台幣，並自称是全球第一部IMAX三維情色電影。[1]
《3D肉蒲團之極樂寶鑑》於2009年開始籌備，2010年8月開始拍攝，2011年4月14日香港等地率先上映。香港上畫首日已超越美國巨片《阿凡達》[2]與《鐵達尼號》的本地首映票房紀錄。
電影於上映前舉行試映會，當時播放的版本為片長135分鐘。[3]而電影上映後，報章報道蕭定一指本電影有另一片長129分鐘的足本版，但因時間緊迫，難安排於戲院上映，而於影碟版推出。[4]他亦表示預計於2011年8月開拍續集。[5]
