teen prattle
xahlee discord and teen prattle
- the word peasant, has different connotation.
- it has connation in communism, and or, connotation with rube, the uneducated, the “countrymen”.
- u don't call vernacular style as peasant style.
- vernacular style means, basically, no style. it's basically what most people write in chat.
- you and @triangle, share many similarities in mindset. For lack of better word, i'd just call it teen mindset.
- in general, ur ilk, no care about learning, about how things are, about what is, about philosophy, etc. u just care, about what's on your mind.
- so for example, when we r talking about style, u or triangle guy, would never thought, oh, that's interesting academic subject. Xah says blab blab, let me lookup to verify, and spend 1 hour reading about writing style.
- no no, that would never interest u, or the triangle faak.
- u just gonna, type and say whatever is currently on your mind about style.
- and need the other people to continue typing with u. as in, a chitchat.
- let me contrast to, some other people on this server, so u understand the diff.
- many others here, are not like that.
- in general, they are, what society would call more "mature". Or, more academic. Or, more inquisitive. many who follow me tends to be like that. or, nerds.
- so, when they see i said something about writing style, they would check, lookup, possible for 5 min or an hour, if they didn't know about the subject matter. Or, for many, they already do know about the subject matter, to various degrees. Then they, would put forward their opinion or thoughts about Style.
- but u and triangle guy, would not.
- like, let's use the triangle guy for example. He would, blab on about the subject of style he knows nothing about, and then say, oh but we are chatting, what's the point if u no answer his questions, etc.
- teen mindset.
- and, you and triangle guy, i'd say, are both good person. And, both, smart. As in, high IQ, higher than the population.
- but, teen mindset, nevertheless.
- this teen mindset, i no like. because from experience, they suck ur blood.
- what often ends up is, i chat with them for 1 or more hours. basically, from my point of view, teaching them things.
- but they don't take it that way. They think they are just doing normal chichat, like with their teen peers.
- they no lookup things. then just want u to chat with them, like handholding them, yet, they no appreciate whatever u might showed them something new they dunno. They act as ur equals.
- the other day, about 3 days ago, such episode occured, between me and triangle.
- when he proclaimed, that golang string sucks.
- then we chatted 3 hours.
- to me, i spend 3 hours teaching him stuff. on go lang tech detail about string, on unicode, char, byte.
- he didn't feel that way, i think. To him, it's just another day on the interweeb.
- and this, in turn, elicited others, who do not like xah style, the slight rudeness. The moralists. So, i end up spending 1 or 2 hours arguing with THAT guy.
- and in the end, making a fool of this server. Like, here's xah, come hither, to diss xah's rudeness. Fuck his knowledge oriented inclination.
- you see, if the triangle guy, did not, proclaim that golang string sucks. none of this would happen. In particular, i would not, start to be any sense of rudeness as perceived by some others.
- instead, he could have said, ho, here's a golang string/unicode issue, what's going on?
- or something similar, either asking a question directly or indirectly, sans dramatic claim.
- now, let me say some positive thing.
- the episode with triangle guy, i did learn a thing. That is, in linux, file name are not any encoding validated. something like that. And, that seems to be connected with, how linux file system the ext4, does not validate file names by some encoding.
- this is in contrast to, NTFS or APFS.
- though, i still don't have a complete understanding, of the interplay, between file name encoding, in file system, and OS.
- the other day, about a month or 2 ago, triangle guy also proclaimed, that golang json sucks because no way to validate nil is real data or missing data.
- i thought his claim is silly, incorrect. he went on to an argument with others. On looking up myself, it seems golang json library is fairly complex. i'd have to take 30 min to understand to make judgement. So, i didn't readily start argument with triangle guy.
- but i said to him, if i lookup, spend the 30 min or hour, and in the end convinced him he was wrong, he'd have to pay a nominal feed of $5. He didn't take up the challenge.
- and there's another incidence with triangle. Where, he proclaimed, in his teen mindset casual way, the nil in lisp is a design mistake.
- now, all the above things i have solid expertise. e.g. go lang, golang string design, unicode, encoding. lisp, nil in lisp, and the lang design issue of not having a dedicated boolean type.
- so, i argued with triangle guy. chatted for an hour or two, about nil in lisp or the necessity of dedicated boolean type in programing langs.
- to me, i am spending time teaching him.
- to him, i think he doesn't perceive it that way. It's just chitchat. another day of chitchat.
- Showed no appreciation whatsoever.
- the above, summarize my issue with teen-mindset ilk, in particular with the triangle anon.
- but on a positive note, chatting with teen is fun and free.
- because their ignorance, and their young age, the lose mouth, u can also be lose, and just machine gun mouthing things to match theirs.
- this is in contrast, chatting to more mature person, professionals, professors, or otherwise knowledable person.
- because there, u have to think about things, in general more serious, follow common etiquette.
now, rubes of the world, hark
