there are two reasons i use Apple Mail instead of MS Outlook Express.

1. Outlook Express is OS 9 only.
2. Outlook Express uses a proprietary format for mail storage.

But overall, the much touted Apple Mail has lots to catch up to 
Microsoft.

It does piss me off to have things without substance touted, such in 
this case is Apple Mail. The trumped Junk Mail filter isn't that 
useful. OE has a very effective junk mail filter a year ago.
