2010-07-27 The Raven Raiders Combat Rules Natural Combat Rules AKA: NCR *** RECENT CHANGES TO THIS DOCUMENT - v 1.28 PERSONNEL MOVEMENT: 1: -NO DIRECT TELEPORTS are allowed to advance troops. Do not use TPs at all except too the customer spawn hub to set your home point or to bring people to the hub starting point for combat. AREA EFFECT MUNITIONS: 2: * Flamethrowers, Smoke bombs, Flash Bang grenades and Flares are legal considering: *They are not used improperly as griefing tools. *They have to end within a reasonable amount of time (Maximum 5 seconds) *They should affect a maximum 10m radius. *They do not follow the target for more than 5 seconds. *They do not have extremely loud audio volume sound effects. 3: -No Followers or attraction radius explosive devices. ( This excludes the above listed weapons which comply with NCR standards ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Natural Combat Rules AKA: N.C.R. This set of rules is meant to be followed by all SL military who agree to engage in combat in a natural way without artificial enhancements not found in RL combat. The NCR are the combat rules used by the Raven Raiders army and other armies to promote a more realistic, natural combat environment and therefore accepting the NCR treaty agreement . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NCR - The Simple Guidelines: ≥Respect at all times your enemy and your comrades in arms! ≤ -No movement enhancers (Examples in the Movement Category) -No breach charges or use of portal making devices (mini teleports) -No avatar flying (Av Flying) -No Nukes ( Except ours :) - The "RR Frankenuke I.C.B.M.) -No Followers or attraction radius explosive devices -No Foam -No explosions with a blast radius over 10m. -No non-military freebie vehicles, aircraft or other inappropriate objects. -No AV attached aircraft allowed. (You must die along with the vehicle you are in and not be ejected out of it when it is destroyed) -No dropping from aircraft without a parachute or hang-glilder. -No more than one weapon can be used at the same time, unless they are a matching pair or designed for dual use. (two weapons maximum) -No spawn killing -No shooting through objects (prim shooting) - Only shoot when you see your opponent's avatar to be sure. -No Illegal bullets - Damage bullets only! All other bullet types are illegal. -No cloaking or becoming invisible in whole or partially. -No flying aircraft inside a building -No protective devices such as shields on AVs, aircraft or armored vehicles. -No griefing (no use of Hud attacks) -No Prim Hacking or Prim Sitting -No use of Wireframe view -No rezzing vehicles that have more than 255 prims (the max linked prim limit) Air to ground assaults are allowed as long as it is done within the limits of the NCR. *A maximum of 4 firing cores equal to one bullet per firing core in a weapon. *100 rounds/clip max for all man portable rifles, pistols and machine guns. *200 rounds/clip max for stationary heavy machine guns or HMG that are land vehicle transported. *All guns must have a 0.5 second/10 rounds reload time - 50 rounds = 2.5 seconds *All rocket, grenade, mortar or any exploding projectiles must have a 3.0 second firing delay between rounds fired. (Use the honor system and count to three) *All civilians/visiting army personel must be & remain unarmed, seek and attain clearance from the actting CO to enter the combat area or risk being shot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Detailed Guidelines Overview General guidelines: -NOTELEPORTING your personel to your current location except the RR Customer Spawn Hub. -Entering an army base/combat SIM should be done by teleporting to the spawns designated for either parties, defenders and attackers. (Entering in any other way is reason to eject or ban) -No shooting through walls intentionally (prim shooting) -No Racism, Discrimination, Sexism, Verbal Abuse, False Accusations or unfair treatment in any way. Please respect everyone! -No griefing whatsoever *AO's are allowed providing that they do no offset your hotbox from your visible avatar or act as a (ME) movement enhancer. * NOTELEPORTING your personel to your current location. -Follow normal SL Terms Of Service rules at all times. MOVEMENT - FLYING: -Avatar Flying is not allowed * When deploying troops from an aircraft (dropping out of transport jet, chopper, ect.) you must use a parachute or land your aircraft and deploy your ground troops. - Free falling is not allowed. *Flying by use of miltary type vehicles is allowed as long as it is not an avatar attachment. (The person(s) using the vehicle in any way should be killable) *Aircraft may attack ground troops. Bombs and rockets must meet the 3.0 second reload time between deployment. -Flying Robots/Mechs are not allowed and is considered AV flying. * * ( RR Army Specific) ** You may ride the Frankenuke when launched but you have to ride it until the end :) MOVEMENT - GROUND: -Movement Enhancers are not allowed. This includes: > Jump packs > Jet packs > Gravity changing devices > Any device that alters your speed or jump height including AOs (Animation Over-rides) which produce this affect. * You may ride the "Frankenuke" * -NOTELEPORTING your personel to your current location except the RR Customer Spawn Hub. -No sit hacking - Making use of sitting on an object to go through walls is not permitted. -No prim hacking, you are not permitted to sit on a prim, and move yourself by means of editing. -Making use of glitches or special SL client tools to gain an unfair advantage in general not allowed. If you need confirmation, you can always IM one of the officers of the army you are attacking. -No breach charges or portal making devices. A natural combat scenario simply can't allow these as they bypass an important way of defending the objective. A breach includes anything that allows you to move yourself through a prim barrier such as a wall, fence or any barrier. AMMUNTIONS: -No shield breaking bullets -No Pushing bullets (in any possible way) -No phantom bullets -No Explosive bullets -No bullets that have an unfair travel path (for example bullets that hover) -No tracker bullets (this includes instant or non-physical bullets) -No oversized Bullets (for example no bullet can be longer than 5 meters) -No bullets of which the bullet on itself or the effect it causes grief. -No Sound spamming -No extreme lag making weapons *Shotguns may have up to 10 firing cores, must have a 0.5 delay between shots with a maximum of 10 rounds per magazine and a 3.0 second reload time. *Maximum of 4 bullet firing cores in a weapon. *Aircraft can have a maximum of 7 firing cores (maximum - 7 bullets rezzed/shot) *Damage bullets only - (No Lazers, Pulse, SB, EB, Phantom, foam or otherwise) *All man-portable weapons (ones you can carry) have a 100 round/clip ammo capacity with a 0.5 second/ 10 rounds reload time. *Stationary HMG (Heavy Machine Guns) may have up to 200 rounds/clip with a 0.5 second/ 10 rounds reload time. AREA EFFECT MUNITIONS: -No Spamming of Explosives - Individual's weapons must have a minimum of three seconds reload or delay time between firing shells, rockets, grenades or other area effect muntitions. It is prohibited for groups of soldiers to deploy area effect munitions in a consecutive manner by which defeating the three minimum three second delay rule between explosions. -No Explosives that have a radius of over 10 meters. (This also goes for the range of proximity explosives) -You are not allowed to manually move the explosive to the person by means of editing. *Explosives should kill everyone in the radius, this includes yourself, group members, and others. *Explosives should be properly used. This means, rockets have to be shot, C4's have to be planted. *Seeker missiles are allowed to be used against aircraft. -No Followers or attraction radius explosive devices. *Planted Explosives should be destroyable by means of shooting it, should be visible to everyone and kill everyone in the blast area including the owner and the group it is set to. * Flamethrowers, Smoke bombs, Flash Bang grenades and Flares are legal considering: *They are not used improperly as griefing tools. *They have to end within a reasonable amount of time (Maximum 5 seconds) *They should affect a maximum 10m radius. *They do not follow the target for more than 5 seconds. BUILDING: -Building is not allowed in most cases, it is not allowed to build things here that would seem unrealistic. Some exceptions are : *Ladders *Portable barricades(They should be deemed portable) *small bridges -We reserve the right to return your item at any time. The reasons might include : -The item being unfair and giving a huge advantage to one side -The item being unrealistic -The item is used in too large quantities -The item is used too often. -The item is used to block entry -The item is rezzed from a position far away from the avatar ENGAGEMENT: -No spawn killing! All defending army personnel should spawn somewhere in their base and all enemies should spawn in the designated spawn area. Black screening is reason for banning it is abusive and considered griefing. -No spawn camping! Both parties should have the chance to provide themselves with some kind of cover before firing or being fired upon. If an attacker shoots before reaching cover then they can be shot. Shooting from or into the spawn is illegal and may result in banning or demotion. -All vehicles left unoccupied will be returned immediately. *Defending army personnel are allowed to shoot anyone who exits the spawn without getting clearance from the commanding officer. SHIELDING, ORBITING AND GENERAL STUPIDITY: -No Oversized attachments.(4mx4m) is the maximum. -No shields, or protective devices that alter or stop a bullet's path. -No Orbiting, this falls under griefing, which is not allowed. -No auto killers. -No devices or objects that cause extreme stress to the sim causing excessive lag. -No weapons that stay in the sim after the person has left (with exception of visible planted explosives). -No use of Mega Prims to block any area of the combat area or surrounding SIMs. -No traps (traps are everything that prevents an avatar from moving). -No killing by the use of huds. -No prims that can conceal the visibility of your avatar by using special textures, AKA cloaking. -No offsetting your visible avatar from your hitbox -No weapons that have too large of a kill radius or blasts over 10m. -No material, objects or actions are permitted which may be deemed offensive in a verbal, visual or personal nature. -No recruiting in another army's base, land or SIM. -No Shooting through objects with exception of materials that seem realistic to shoot through, e.g. wood and glass. ABUSE REPORTS: All violations of the N.C.R. must be backed up with accurate evidence using IM or Chat logs, Hit Reports, Screen Shots or Snapshots when reporting offenders to their superior officers. < Exceptions > -If you are in doubt ask an officer of the army you are attacking first before proceeding. --- (The following is applicible only at the RR Army combat SIM - Jungle) ---- 3. You may only "Nuke" by launching the "RR Frankenuke" I.C.B.M. - Do not B.Y.O.N. 4. You may ride the Frankenuke after you have launched it but you must ride it to the ground :) You must launch the Frankenuke from the control room and go outside to sit on the nuke for a ride. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Raven Raiders Mission Statement - The Raven Raiders army group vision is unlike any other in SL. We are ground-breaking, risk taking, unexpected players in the homogenous SL military world who are unafraid to take chances in order to create positive change in our shared combat environment. The NCR - The Natural Combat Rules has been written and presented to military leaders and soldiers who are hungry for fair play and a realistic set of standards relative to RL. This NCR treaty is the catalyst of change so many people in the SL military have been waiting for! The Raven Raiders Military Group Operating Principles: 1. Everyone must have the freedom to communicate with anyone in the RR army group no matter what rank they have. - This means recognizing that the decision-making hierachy and the communication structure are two different things. In other words... The high command will listen, but will make the final decision on any ideas submitted according to how they fit into the over-all theme of the RR army. 2. It must be safe for everyone to offer ideas. - An open environment of creativity for all RR personel where we all can feel without any fear the ability to speak freely with both positive and negative feedback, ideas or concepts with anyone at any rank. It takes 1000's of ideas to make a great army so let's hear them! 3. We must stay close to the innovations happening in the SL military environment. - In order to be at the fore-front of the technical, tactical, interpersonal and philosophical future wave of SL military we must all seek and bring to our table everything we learn outside the RR in order to ensure we are on top of the latest innovations that may fit into our group vision or that which could create something completely new and unexpected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Mission Statement: To create and deliver the unexpected to our customers, foster a safe environment for creative ideas to be heard and promote friendship, loyality, respect, trust which is earned through time spent together at our base with each other. The high command's job is not to prevent risk but to build the capability to recover when failures occure and provide an environment where it is safe to tell the truth.
