This page lists some useful software for Mac and Windows that i personally use. Most are also on Linux.
This isn't exhaustive list of install software. Though, it contains all apps i use daily.
Just noticed a Walmart Photo Center there. lol. That's one of those
bundled bloatware which somehow escaped my notice.
It's going to trash now.
Also, note that ComboFix.exe. It is supposed to be a rootkit detector or remover, but i haven't researched enough to be sure it's good. It is there temporarily.

all-in-one chats software for your Yahoo/AIM/MSN. But these usually only support text chat, no video or voice.
These days, just use twitter

Very occasionally, i also use:
Mac: build-in.
Windows: Cygwin. (See: Installing Cygwin Tutorial.)
Or, VirtualBox with Ubuntu Linux.
For text terminal, you can use ssh in cygwin (install openssh within cygwin). Also, in cygwin, use MinTTY. Or, you can download PuTTY.
