The PIXPage Staff Justin Timberlake spoke exclusively to CBS at the Grammy rehearsals Wednesday, calling the Super Bowl incident that exposed Janet Jackson's breast embarrassing and frustrating.
"Let me just get something off my chest," Timberlake said. "I've been on tour for the past three months. I got a call from my manager to do the Super Bowl -- that they were interested in me doing the Super Bowl -- and initially turned it down. I got a call from Janet, and decided to do it.
"I wasn't able to be at a lot of the rehearsals. I flew in from Spain the last day. The rehearsals were actually on the field, and the only thing that was really accomplished from those rehearsals was how I was going to enter the stage. But, I have faith in myself so I wasn't really worried.
Timberlake called CBS's plan to use a video-delay during Sunday's Grammy Awards a "great idea."
Timberlake's apology comes fresh on heels of Janet Jackson's. In a videotaped statement, she said she never intended to offend anyone.
"My decision to change the Super Bowl performance was made after the final rehearsal," she said. "MTV, CBS, the NFL had no knowledge of this whatsoever, and unfortunately the thing went wrong in the end."
Meantime, the NFL cancelled a planned appearance by one of Timberlake's 'N Sync (news - web sites) band members at Sunday's Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
