Unicode Characters Example

Xah Lee, 2004-05-05

This page is a attestation of my love of Unicode↗. For its manifesto, and for the diversity of prints of human animal's written communication.

This page is a sample of unicode characters. They are grouped by usage, with character names shown on the left of each char. This page is not intended to be comprehensive in any way. Rather, it showcases some interesting symbols in Unicode, from commonly used symbols (™©®☢♲), to quaint ones (§※☺☾❦), to exotic asians (ㄅㄆㄇㄈ杀), to my obsession the math symbolism (∑ℂ⊗∞).)

If you see lots of squares or question marks, that means your computer doesn't have the required font, or that your browser isn't setup correctly to display them. Most of the common symbols has a entry in Wikipedia you can look up for their purposes and history.
